The operator stack
Four steps, in order. Skipping the entity and parking personal cash in a brokerage is how a first-time operator turns a bookkeeping problem into a tax-and-liability problem.
Form the entity
Most US residents who operate in one state should file in that state. An LLC is a state filing with a registered agent and an annual registration; it is not a tax election and it is not a way to disappear from the public record.
Park LLC cash
Operating cash belongs in a business checking account. A buffer can sit in a high-yield savings account at an FDIC-insured bank. Excess cash can sit in Treasury bills or a government money-market fund through a brokerage. This site does not currently link to a live bank program.
Open a payable brokerage
Interactive Brokers runs a CPC publisher program for finance publishers. Fidelity, Schwab, and Vanguard do not pay publishers. “Payable” is a publisher fact, not a ranking of which brokerage is best for a given person. There are no live tracking links on this site.
Use business credit as credit
A 0% intro APR is honest in two cases: a balance transfer to pay down existing high-APR card debt, and a 0% purchase APR on a business card for real expenses with a written payoff date. It is not a method for funding a brokerage, a savings account, or crypto.
