Formation Lane Editorial

Who writes Formation Lane guides, how each page is checked before it goes live, and which sources count.

Page dated 18 October 2026

Formation Lane Editorial is the desk that writes and maintains every guide on this site. Bylines name the desk, not a person, because the work is a process: draft, check against the official source, date the fact, and fix it when the source changes.

How a guide is made

  1. Draft the steps with AI assistance.
  2. Check each fee, deadline, and form name against the agency that sets it, and note the date it was checked.
  3. Publish with a Sources list a reader can open.
  4. Re-check when a state or the IRS changes a rule, and move the page date forward.

Sources that count

  • Secretary of State filing pages, fee schedules, and statutes.
  • IRS.gov, SSA.gov, FinCEN, and SBA.gov.
  • CFPB, FDIC, and SIPC for banking and brokerage rules.
  • A provider’s own pricing page, for that provider’s price only.

Blogs, forums, and filing-service marketing pages are used only to find the official document. The full rule set is on Methodology.
